Study Plan<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

1 – Bachelor’s degree<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n

The college\u2019s bylaw includes a group of subjects that organize the study as follows:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Article (1) The mission and objectives of the college<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

According to what was stated in the college’s previous mission. The college seeks to achieve the following purposes:<\/strong><\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Preparing specialists in computers, information systems and technology and computer networks who are qualified with theoretical foundations and to qualify them for global competition in the development of computer and information technology and its applications.<\/strong><\/li>\n
  2. Conducting scientific and applied studies and research in the field of computers and information, and the establishment of specialized research units in the various branches of computers and information<\/strong><\/li>\n
  3. Providing scientific and technical advice and assistance to bodies and authorities that use computer and network technology and are interested in decision-making.<\/strong><\/li>\n
  4. Training technical cadres in the various sectors of the state on computers and information.<\/strong><\/li>\n
  5. Spreading awareness in society with the aim of using computers and information in the various sectors and institutions of the state, and raising the efficiency of their use.<\/strong><\/li>\n
  6. Organizing conferences and holding scientific meetings with the aim of raising the educational level.<\/strong><\/li>\n
  7. Concluding scientific agreements with corresponding bodies and institutions at the local, regional and global levels in order to exchange opinions.<\/strong><\/li>\n
  8. Providing and strengthening the means of publishing and scientific research in various fields of specialization.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Article (2) College Admission Requirements<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

    The College of Computers and Information accepts students who have obtained a high school, the Mathematics Division, through the Universities Admission Coordination Office.<\/strong><\/p>\n

    Article (3) Departments of the College<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

    The College of Computing and Information Technology includes the following departments:<\/strong><\/p>\n

    Department of Computer Science<\/strong><\/p>\n

    Department of Information Systems<\/strong><\/p>\n

    Department of Information Technology<\/strong><\/p>\n

    Computer Networks Department<\/strong><\/p>\n

    Other departments may be established in the college in the future in accordance with the provisions of the Universities Organizing Law.<\/strong><\/p>\n

    Article (4) Academic Degrees<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

    Sohag University grants, upon the request of the Faculty of Computers and Information Council, a bachelor\u2019s degree in computers and information in one of the following specializations:<\/strong><\/p>\n

    (a) Computer science.<\/strong><\/p>\n

    (B) information systems.<\/strong><\/p>\n

    (c) Information technology.<\/strong><\/p>\n

    (D) computer networks.<\/strong><\/p>\n

    Article (5) Study System<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

    The study at the college depends on the approved hours system, which is divided into four levels.<\/strong><\/p>\n

    Obtaining a bachelor’s degree requires that the student successfully pass (144 credit hours) of the study plan over eight semesters, divided into four academic years.<\/strong><\/p>\n

    Article (6) Language of teaching<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

    Studying in the College of Computers and Information is in English, and with the approval of the College Council, some courses may be taught in Arabic.<\/strong><\/p>\n

    Article (7) Academic Advising<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

    The college assigns to each group of students an academic advisor from the faculty members who performs the tasks of academic guidance for the student and helps them choose the appropriate department. The College Council distributes the students enrolled in the College to the teaching staff. The student is responsible for the department in which he registers based on his desire.<\/strong><\/p>\n

    Article (8) Attendance and Absence<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

    Studying at the College of Computers and Information is regular and affiliation is not permitted.<\/strong><\/p>\n

    Article (9) Dropping out of study<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

    A student may drop out of study – with an acceptable excuse – for two consecutive semesters or four non-consecutive semesters.<\/strong><\/p>\n

    A student may submit a request to suspend enrollment in the college according to the terms and conditions set by the university.<\/strong><\/p>\n

    Article (10) Study System<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

    The duration of study for a bachelor\u2019s degree is four university years divided into eight semesters.<\/strong><\/p>\n

    The attendance rate of the student is not less than 75%.<\/strong><\/p>\n

    The study in the first, second and third year is unified for all disciplines, and specialization begins in the fourth year. Each department has the right to set the qualifying conditions for joining it after being approved by the College Council.<\/strong><\/p>\n

    Fourth year students (all departments) make a scientific trip to visit the places and scientific bodies in the governorates of the Republic related to their specialization, during the mid-year vacation or the beginning of the second semester.<\/strong><\/p>\n

    The final year students form small groups of no less than four students to prepare graduation projects. These projects extend over the two semesters. The relevant department councils determine the topics of graduation projects. <\/strong><\/p>\n

    Article (11) Exam System<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

    A- The minimum success rate in the course is 60% of the total course grades.<\/strong><\/p>\n

    B- A student who has failed in a subject is allowed to enter the exam, and the grade of the last exam is added to the cumulative total with the number of times the exam is entered on the cumulative total form. But if he fails a second time, he may enter the exam, and an acceptable grade for the cumulative total is added to him in case of success.<\/strong><\/p>\n

    C – The College Council, after the approval of the University Council, has the right to set the dates for the final exams and announce them to students at an appropriate time.<\/strong><\/p>\n

    D- The student\u2019s success in the general grade is estimated by one of the grades indicated in the following table:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
